WebAug 11, 2011 · This has to do with the fan clutch apparently not working properly (being locked tight to the fan). So how does it work? At idle, I would think the fan would spin fully (locked). And at higher engine speeds, the fan would spin less. And people on this forum refer to the newspaper test of stopping the fan blades while the engine idles.
